Directions to Race Locations and Descriptions

 

Blue Lakes
West on 88 towards Kirkwood. From Carson Valley: Follow Hwy. 88 up Woodfords Canyon past Hwy. 89 turnoff to Tahoe.  After approx 3 miles (still on Hwy. 88), turn LEFT onto Blue Lakes Road. From Tahoe: Follow Hwy. 89 south towards Kirkwood. At Hwy. 88 junction, turn RIGHT.  After approx 3 miles, turn LEFT onto Blue Lakes Road. 

Course Description:  Course length varies but is basically a 5-8-mile hill climb with one or two turnarounds.

 

Diamond Valley

South on Hwy. 88 to Woodfords. Turn LEFT onto Hwy. 89 towards Markleeville.  After 1/4 -1/3 mile, at top of first hill, turn LEFT onto Diamond Valley Rd. Park in vacant lot on northeast corner of Hwy. 89 and Diamond Valley Rd. 

Course Description:  11-mile rolling loop with 2 main climbs, less than 1 mile each.

 

Eagle Ridge Crit North of Genoa on Jacks Valley Rd to Adams Ranch Rd., West up hill To Eagle Ridge.  Park of Road. 

Course Description:  1.6 miles around, new pavement, 200 meter climb, nice down hill and flat cross section.

 

East Valley Crit

From Carson City: Take Hwy. 395 South to Minden. Turn LEFT at second stoplight  (Buckeye Rd).

From Gardnerville: Take Hwy. 395 North to Minden.  Turn RIGHT on Buckeye Rd. Once on Buckeye Rd: Drive 3.5 miles, then turn LEFT onto East Valley Rd. Drive 0.5

miles then turn RIGHT onto Grandview Pkwy. Drive 0.5 miles then turn RIGHT

onto Grand Ridge Ct. Parking: Please park off of the race course.

Course Description: One mile, mostly flat, two right-hand corners and two sweeping corners, utterly exposed to the wind, pristine road surface, and very little, if any, traffic.

 

East Valley TT

From Carson City: Take Hwy 395 South to Gardnerville.  Turn LEFT on Waterloo (Scolari’s / Taco Bell).  Head east about 1.5 miles turn LEFT onto East Valley Rd.

park off the road, watch traffic and drive ways. 

Course Description: 11-12 miles, mostly flat and straight, some large dips, exposed to the wind, variable road surfaces with loose gravel, moderate traffic

(some speeders).  This will be to Johnson Lane and back to the start/finish.

 

Foothill TT

HWY 395 to HWY 88 right turn on Mottsville (west) to Kingsbury and Foothill.

Course Description: Foothill and Kingsbury start south on Foothill to Hwy 88 (Fairview) and back to Kingsbury.  12 miles

 

Fredericksburg Prologue

Take Hwy 88 south. Right onto Fairview Lane (SR 206).  Left on Fredericksburg.  Start and Finish will be at Fairview and Fredericksburg.  This is a rolling open road and is approximately 4.3 miles to the turnaround just before running back into Hwy 88 making it a round trip of approx. 9 miles. 

 

Jacks Valley TT

Just north of downtown Genoa. Start is at State Park 

Course Description:  Rolling approximately 15-mile course with 2 turnarounds; often windy.

 

 

 

Pine Nut Road Race  aka “dump loop”

From Carson City: Take Hwy 395 South to Gardnerville.  Turn LEFT on Waterloo (Scolari’s / Taco Bell). Head east about 3.5 miles to Jo Lane turn right.  Park off the road in the dirt do not block driveways.

Course description:  Approx 11.5 mile loop with variable road conditions, rolling hills with some small climbs.  Right turns with moderate traffic.  You will need to share the road.

 

Reno Air Center Crit

Take E. McCarran to Longley, go left. Turn left at second light (Mira Loma Drive) into Aircenter Business Park (near the Porsche Warehouse, south end of airport). We've had some problems with the business owners in the area. Please don't flip-off, cuss at, or say anything derogatory to anyone you see out there that isn't a club member. Also, please do not litter in the parking areas.

Course Description:  Flat, all right turns, .8-mile loop.

 

Starbucks – Crit

Hwy 395 North from Gardnerville or South from Carson City, east on Johnson Lane, Right on Business Pkwy. then right on Silver State Pkwy. to end.       Course Description: This course is flat with all right turns and is about .9 of a mile.  There are trailers parked on the side of the road, but should not be an issue.  This is an industrial area so we may have some traffic.  Everyone will have to be extra alert and cautious.
