Pace: Medium
Terrain: Hard

Description: This ride has beautiful scenery and beautiful mountain roads. Join us for riding up and over Ebbetts Pass, down to Hermit Valley, up Pacific Grade, past Mosquito Lake, and over the rollers to Lake Alpine, and back. Lots of climbing, some of it very steep. Water and food (a convenience store) is available at Lake Alpine, but none along the way - carry plenty of each to make it there, a tough 32 mile ride. It's an out and back, so if you're looking for a shorter ride, please start with us but turn around where you want. The club will provide snacks and drinks at the end.

Ride Date: 07/04/2026
Ride Title: Fourth of July Ride
Depart Time: 8:30am

Meeting Place: Genoa Town Park, Nixon St.

Ride Leader: Judy Guinn (7753020031)
Email: lilwch@charter.net

Type of Ride: Road
Mileage: 40
Pace: Easy
Terrain: Medium

Description: Start at Genoa State Park. Head out Foothill, Fredericksburg, right on Emigrant Trail (climb), Hwy 88 to Hwy 89. Take Diamond Valley around to Hwy 88, cross and take Foothill back to Genoa, (bonus option to go up River Road before crossing Hwy 88 and reverse route up Emigrant Trail, very short, to Foothill back to Genoa). Notes: Parking at Genoa State Park may be limited due to 4th of July festivities. We may have to park parallel on Foothill heading in our direction. I'm not a fast rider but I go the distance. After the ride, you may want to stay in Genoa for some of the 4th of July Americana Celebration in the State Park. You've already got a great parking space.

Ride Date: 07/12/2026
Ride Title: Silver Fork Rd OAB
Depart Time: 9am

Meeting Place: We'll park on Silver Fork Rd here: https://maps.apple/p/suusAS.GQ1HK9I But there's only room for a few cars, so let's carpool from Meyers (or arrange with friends wherever you are). Carpool location to be posted as the date approaches.

Ride Leader: Jennie Hamiter (530-307-1168)
Email: jenniehamiter@mac.com

Type of Ride: Road
Mileage: 32
Pace: Medium
Terrain: Hard

Description: Silver Fork Road starts out steep but the rest is pretty pleasant climbing on a small lightly travelled road. The first half has views looking down to the Silver Fork of the American River. The Caldor Fire did unfortunately take out a lot of the forest along this route, so maybe half the route is forested, but it's still pretty scenic - there are certainly fewer trees obscuring the views to Thunder Mountain, Pyramid Peak, etc. Some folks may want to take the longer option of doing an out-n-back on Packsaddle Pass Road, which is even smaller, more lightly travelled, and quite scenic. That option will be on the return ride turning right (north) and climbing Packsaddle to the high point 6-7 miles up, for ~13 more miles and 1600 ft more climbing. That road has a lot of big potholes and sand, so bigger tires will make it a lot more fun and safe. Club will provide snacks and drinks for afterwards.

Ride Date: 07/25/2026
Ride Title: Sonora Pass
Depart Time: 9am

Meeting Place: Gardnerville Grocery Outlet parking lot to carpool/caravan, ready to roll at 7:45am. The ride will start at the Sonora Bridge Meadow Picnic Site off of Hiway 108, at 9am. https://maps.app.goo.gl/t1KVm3TCpGeREdsX6

Ride Leader: Jennie Hamiter (5303071168)
Email: jenniehamiter@mac.com

Type of Ride: Road
Mileage: 36
Pace: Medium
Terrain: Hard

Description: We'll ride up the east side Sonora Pass, then about 4 miles down the other side just to "Bill's Point" (where the road pitches up for 100 or so vertical feet). We'll turn around at the top of that short climb. Since this is an out-n-back, feel free to turn around at the top of the pass. You'll still have gotten in a very steep but spectacular ride. Anyone going further out (and down) is on their own.

Ride Date: 08/08/2026

Depart Time: 9:00 am

Meeting Place: Olympic Valley at Palisades Ski Resort parking lot east end

Ride Leader: Allen Forbes ((775) 848-4915)
Email: allen@forbes-engineering.com

Type of Ride: Road
Mileage: 45
Pace: Medium
Terrain: Medium

Description: Start at Palisades Ski Resort parking lot east end by the A-frame building (it’s actually a funky tri-A frame) which has a restroom facility that is typically open. We’ll ride on the bike path to highway 89 cross at the light and ride the bike path along the river to Tahoe City. We head south on the bike path to Barker Pass Road. Then ascend to the end of the pavement to the top of Barker Pass. Approximately 1500 ft climb to Barker Pass. Return to the lake and use the bike trail to Ward Creek Boulevard. Ward Creek is an easy climb through the neighborhood to the Sherwood Express chair lift on the backside of Alpine Meadows and loop around back to 89. Both roads offer a respite from busy Tahoe shore roads. Heading back north we’ll go past Tahoe City back to the very easy and scenic miles along the Truckee River Bike Path returning to the start.

Ride Title: Gold Lakes Loop
Depart Time: TBD

Meeting Place: The pond behind the general store in Graeagle, CA

Ride Leader: Monica Siewertsen (9512331081)
Email: mbs0613@gmail.com

Type of Ride: Road
Mileage: ~ 46
Pace: Medium
Terrain: Medium

Description: A great loop outside of our usual riding area. We will head SE on 89 out of town, the first ~2 miles are heavily trafficked and on rougher road. With that stretch out of the way, the remainder of this ride enjoys lighter traffic, beautiful scenery and reasonable climbs. The route takes us to Calpine, Sattley and the a right turn onto hwy 49 and up Yuba Pass. From the summit there is a lovely, long downhill to Bassetts. We make a right here onto Gold Lake Rd for the last climb of the day highlighted with great views of the Buttes and past the series of lakes that pepper the area. A final slightly rougher pavement downhill and a left onto the busy 89 will take us back to the start. There will be opportunity for water/restroom at Calpine, restroom at Yuba Pass summit and food/ice cream/drinks at Bassetts' Station. The pond is a refreshing cool off spot at the end of the ride, if desired.
